Pre- Season Updates of IPL 2021- #IndiaKaApnaMantra

IPL 2021: Cricket- the religion of India is back with the 14th edition of the Indian Premier League.

Right from the UAE, we are back in India after this short gap from the last season and this time held in 4 neutral locations- Delhi’s Arun Jaitley Stadium, Ahemdabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium, Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium and Chennai’s M.A. Chidambaram Stadium are set to host the matches amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. There will be no home-ground benefit to any of the teams.  Let’s look at what the teams are up to as they start their preparation for the tournament!

PRE-SEASON UPDATES:-

Defending champions Rohit Sharma led- Mumbai Indians released an official statement on 6th April which stated that Scout and Wicket Keeping Consultant Mr Kiran More tested positive for COVID-19  and is in the quarantine facility at present. Updates in from the neutral venue at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai where unfortunately 20 out of the 30 match staff tested COVID-19 positive. In a respite from these times, clarifications from BCCI President- Sourav Ganguly as he stated that Mumbai will continue to host the 10 IPL matches this year because once the players are in the Bio-Bubble they are absolutely safe.

Finishers at spot 2 of the 2020 tournament held in the UAE were Delhi Capitals as they are led by newly appointed captain Rishabh Pant this year in the absence of an injured Shreyas Iyer who is set to miss the league as he goes in for shoulder surgery soon. Reports on 7th April, state that pacers Kagiso Rabada and Anrich Nortje will be missing out on their first match at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai as they will be in mandatory Quarantine for seven days after joining they joined the team on Tuesday ahead of IPL 2021.

The men in red and gold who finished at a strong spot 3,last year, Virat Kohli led Royal Challengers Bangalore have some good news coming in!! Opening batsman, Devdutt Padikkal finally gets two negative COVID-19 reports and will be seen resting on advice from the medical team for the team’s opening match against MI. Unfortunately in an official statement made by the team on 7th of April cricketer Daniel Sams tests COVID positive from his second COVID test. He is asymptomatic and is in isolation at present and will surely bounce back better!

Chennai’s Thala- M.S.Dhoni led Chennai Super Kings Chennai player Moeen Ali is now allowed to drop the liquor brand logo from his Jersey and is allowed to wear a Jersey without that particular brand as Muslim cricketers have decided against wearing a Jersey that supports or has logos of liquor brands due to their religious beliefs.

In news coming in from 2012 and 2014 Champions- Kolkata Knight Riders a new face joins the team and they are super excited to  have signed Spinner Harbhajan Singh who will look forward to raining wickets for the team. #KKRHaiTyaar with  newly appointed captain Eoin Morgan  and run-getter Shubhman Gill who are geared up for their first match against SunRisers Hyderabad on 11th April, 2021 at 7.30pm catch them live in action and Let's see how they add to the squad!

#OrangeArmy has just started with their practice matches, the fierce and strong team of SunRisers Hyderabad led by David Warner will take on Kolkata Knight Riders on Sunday, 11th April 2021 as their season-opening game.

Rebranded Punjab Kings will search for stability in their game with captain KL Rahul all set and looking good, they will be aiming for their maiden title. Recently Chris Gayle was seen treating his fans dancing on Micheal Jackson's song after completing the tough quarantine. He trains hard for IPL 2021.

Match- 30 Chennai Super Kings vs Mumbai Indians

 Rutu-RAJ shines over a dull a Mumbai Indians  The Indian Premier League of 2021 is back in action. After its postponement in May, this is the first game in the remainder of the IPL. The Mahendra Singh Dhoni led Chennai Super Kings take on Rohit Sharma's Mumbai Indians.  It was earlier speculated that Faf Du Plessis of the yellow brigade was set to miss on the first game due to an injury. Good news is that he can feature in the game after he cleared the fitness test. The MI squad suffered a blow as Rohit Sharma and Hardik Pandya will miss out on the season opener. Kieron Pollard will be Mumbai Indians stand in captain.  The Dubai International Stadium got a firing start to the league. Ruturaj Gaikwad, the opening batsman of the CSK was the lone support to get the yellow squad to get to 156/6(20) none of the other batsman could support the youngster to capitalize on a big score. As Mumbai Indians bowling squad, Bumrah and Boult get the better of the CSK batting order....

Match 35 Royal Challengers Bangalore vs Chennai Super Kings

The Royal Challengers Bangalore vs  Chennai Super Kings  match was supposed to begin at 7.30 PM IST. Unfortunately, a sandstorm in Sharjah delayed the toss. The toss was initially delayed for 10 minutes but looks like we will have to wait longer. Another inspection from the umpires took place at 7.25 PM IST. Amidst this, Virat Kohli and Mahendra Singh Dhoni were seen chatting with each other. Firstly, the fans are waiting for the famous Sothern Derby. Secondly, the famous sandstorms have struck UAE once again.   The Royal Challengers Bangalore have to up their game. They were defeated horribly by the Kolkata Knight Riders in their first game. Whereas, Ruturaj Gaikwad played so well to get CSK their first win. Definitely looked like RCB's day at office today.
